October StoryMobs News

Curious George

On Sunday, August 31st, Toronto StoryMobbers came together to celebrate the classic Curious George at Woodbine Beach.  What fun to parade down the boardwalk and draw a crowd of curious onlookers at the beach!  Thank you to our wonderful StoryMobbers, volunteers and photographers Shirin Hariri and David A. Fitzpatrick.  See all the photos in our Gallery.

Satellite StoryMobs Are Growing

Do you know about our developing Satellite StoryMobs Program?  A Satellite StoryMob is one that occurs out in the world, organized by someone passionate to bring the experience into their own community.  Anyone who is interested in taking on creating their own StoryMob, large or small can do so and (for a small fee to cover administrative costs) we provide a comprehensive support guide for organizers that includes an instructional video, templates, timelines, tips, checklists and more.

Recent & Upcoming Satellite StoryMobs

July 12, 2014 – Where The Wild Things Are – Annapolis Royal, NS (See the video)
August 23, 2014 – The Paper Bag Princess – Sudbury, ON (See News Story)
August 30, 2014 – The Busy Beaver – Bayfield, ON (News Story-scroll down!)
October 4, 2014 – The Pumpkin People – Kentville, Nova Scotia (Watch for update here)

What’s Next in Toronto?

Since StoryMobs’ inception in June of 2013, we have produced 14 StoryMobs in Toronto, plus supported 15 more which have taken place across the country.  It’s been a heck of a ride and one thing is clear.  STORYMOBS WORK!  Roxanne and Gretel are not planning any StoryMobs in Toronto for the next few months as we focus on strengthening the Satellite StoryMobs Program – empowering OTHERS to create StoryMobs.

So here’s our question to our Toronto StoryMobbers – How about YOU tell US, when the next Toronto StoryMob is?  Anyone can create a StoryMob – and it can be as simple as you like.  We have the resources to support you and lots of info to help you put one together.  Think about it!  We’d love to come to YOUR StoryMob, and we promise to wear a costume!
